Frogholt is a hamlet near Folkestone in Kent, England, on the banks of the Seabrook stream. There are eight houses in Frogholt. The hamlet is part of a conservation area and lies very close to the larger villages of Newington and Peene.
Old Kent Cottage is a medieval hall house built around 1450 This oldest thatched cottage in Kent and is said to have been a haven for Archbishop Thomas Becket during his feud with King Henry II.(a claim impossible to verify)
I made this watercolour including the old cottage in 2007. I was attracted by its charm and the beautiful Autumn colours.
It has been in my private collection ever since but exhibited in Folkestone Art Society.
